Parts of Istrae’s past are now known to her but not all her deeds. How will the knowledge shape her future amidst the struggle for dominance over the city? Rime stands by her and Governor Laukas unwavering, though something worrying is showing through the cracks. Riestel seems to have calmed after his meltdown and is taking a well-earned break from acting like a colossal jerk which may be more unnerving than the usual routine. The city might soon be a battleground. What will be left for the winning side after the dust settles?
The second book in the Strands of Existence series continues the epic fantasy journey with adventure and romance set in a unique world with its own realities, magic system, and religion.

I was looking forward to the second book of Strands of Existence and it did not disappoint. It was more than I expected it to be. Uncovered secrets. Loss and love. An epic battle to save the city and its people. It will keep you on edge and wanting for more.
I loved Istrae and Rime’s interactions in the first book and I absolutely loved them in the second one. At times their relationship is being held together only by the unexplainable connection they feel for each other. As the war is at their doorstep and Istrae has joined Rime in the battle preparations, they are finally getting to know each other at a deeper level. Even though she loves him, some things that he does leave a sour taste in her mouth. I really enjoy reading their story.
Another man in Istrae’s life was Riestel. I despised him in the first book, but his actions in Sea of Shadows redeemed him. At times I wished Istrae would look at him with more than friendship in her eyes and maybe gone too far.
There is betrayal and heartbreak. Friendships are getting tested. And most importantly the war for freedom and life. If you haven’t read the series yet and it sounds like something you’d enjoy, I encourage you to do so!
