Oh, hey. Nora here. Soooo magic is definitely real.
And I guess I’ve been living under a rock because now they’re telling me that I’m the last in a long line of practically extinct jinn.
Nuts, right?
I’m having trouble believing it myself, but that’s not even my biggest problem. I’ve got fatter fae to fry. Like the fact that I put my trust in the wrong person.
It sucks because I thought he was different, that he actually cared for me. Boy, was I wrong.
Now, I’m locked up in a strange place with stranger people and I’ve got one goal on my mind: escape.
Revenge too, but we’ll get there eventually.
Everyone wants something from me, my list of mortal enemies is growing, and I’m having a hard time finding anyone I can trust. To top it off, my newfound powers are causing serious problems.
When it rains, it pours.
Literally. Because apparently, I can control the weather… among other things.
It’s a good thing I’m a quick learner because I’m the new key player in a deadly game of magic where I don’t even know the rules. And when I finally find Rafe, I’ll make him pay with the one thing ripe for my taking…
His soul.
This is the second book in an all-new urban fantasy series: Stones & Curses. It’s got dragons, fae, vampires, jinn, shifters, and a whole lot more. If you love fierce heroines, heart-pumping adventure, a hint of swoony romance, and lots of mind-bending twists, then this is the series for you!

- That cliffhanger!
This book is unputdownable! Is that a word? I’m going with it either way. Nora’s story is absolutely gripping and I was both wishing to know it all in one go while hoping it will never end. Just like the first book in the series of Stones & Curses, I was kept hanging on every word.
Who can she trust, when the whole world is after her power? The uncertainty was so well portrayed I was doubting my own opinions about some of the characters. I refused to believe Rafe was on the dark side, but his actions were so gray that it muffled any kind of coherent thinking. And Jack? We don’t know a whole lot about him, but Nora knows him for years and years. With a rift between those two from the very beginning, their hidden motivations kept me at the edge of my seat.
With more dangers than in the first book, Soul Marked slowly kills you from the inside. Nora has no control over her newly discovered powers whatsoever, but is a beacon to a world full of powerful enemies she never even knew existed. Not trusting Rafe, (I wouldn’t either after what he did to her and his nonexistent explanations!), she sets out alone and has to survive through all of it on her own. And while there are others sympathetic to her cause, nobody can truly help her. Many die simply by being on her side! We still don’t know what happened to Cora (the kelpie) and Bailey (her german shepherd) and it is killing me. That’s all I’m able to say without spoiling all of the plot.
You’ve got to read this series, you really do. And now I am off to reading the third book, because I NEED to! So, so bad!
