Since when am I writing contemporary romance and will you ever meet the Volo Noscere gang again?
Great questions. I started writing Angels Around Us, which will quite likely be called Treasure Me for the duration of the Tease Me box set right after I finished Through Hell & Highwater. I’ve been sitting on it for over a year now, have had first half of it professionally edited and there is only a few last chapters to go. I have time to sit on it for another year and it’ll be perfect. I am already in love with this one and it touches places in my soul I never imagine could be felt. I’m so honoured to be able to release it together with a group of incredible romance authors.
I never meant to publish anything else before the sequel for TH&H, but life doesn’t always play by your rules. Definitely doesn’t play by mine.
I swear to you all right here and now that Treasure Me and Afterworld will be the only two books I’ll work on before getting back to our favourite magic wielders. Cross my heart and all that!
Haven’t heard about Afterworld yet?
We all get busy and I do not make a habit of overspilling your mailbox with messages, so it’s all good if you haven’t heard about this co-working project I’m meticulusly working of together with Olivia Boothe. We are on a tight schedule to get everything ready and in order for our September deadline. This September!!
I wanted to share a few teasers with you. First of all the book trailer!
“Nothing survives a pack of Shaitan,” I reiterated. “The sooner you accept it the easier it’ll be.”
For the both of us.
As if she hadn’t heard a word I’d said, she reached for the door handle.
We were going a hundred miles an hour and she thought it was a great idea to open the door? What the fuck was wrong with her? I slammed the brakes before she could endanger the both of us or kill herself jumping out of the speeding vehicle, all in the name of love.
The change in velocity took her by surprise and she flew against the dashboard, letting go of the door she’d opened. It flapped around a couple of times like a baby bird learning to fly before it came to a halt. Leaning across her seat, I pulled her door back closed, locking it for good measure.
“Damn it, woman! Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
I didn’t mean to linger that close to her. Hell, I’d meant to pull back and drive the fuck off the moment the door was securely shut, but I was unable to move. I didn’t realize what triggered my personal inner-demon until I got a whiff of sweat, blood, and underneath all of that grime… something distinctly female.
You caught us a toy, a gravelly voice only I could hear whispered in my ear.
Fuck me.
Without my own volition, my eyes roamed down her delicate neck to the curve of her chest. The tight top she wore was generously revealing, giving me a five star view of her breasts pressed together by one of those push-up bras. Being encouraged by the sight, my eyes traveled lower, drinking in her slender shape, all the way down to where she gripped the angelic blade.
Its fiery glint snapped me out of the trance. Thank God – or anyone willing to listen. That blade only glowed in the presence of Children of the Fire. I bolted back to my own seat. As much as I needed that damn sword to save me, I knew it hungered for my blood. Trying to mask my trembling breath, I pushed back into my own seat.

Did I tell you Afterworld is also only $0.99? Well, it is!
My latest read
This book stole my soul, ripped out my heart and crushed it between the very pages. Wow.
I fell in deep right on the get-go when Lora was introduced. A strong, stubborn female lead that is sure to keep things interesting wherever she goes, because to the places she goes no one she knows can follow. I got sucked through the portal right along with her as she entered the fairyland and fell into the arms of Eyden.
Oh my gods how I loved Eyden!! And I loved Rhay. I absolutely hated Amira’s brother and despised Karwyn. So many emotions all mixed up in a perfect book cocktail. I never wanted it to end! Why did it have to end?!

Most importantly
Do you already have a copy of Through Hell & Highwater? Not yet? I’m running a giveaway on instagram where one of the books you can win is TH&H. Check it out and perhaps you’ll get lucky. Otherwise, you can always visit Amazon ^.^

Let me know what you have been upto lately! I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time!

Wonderful holiday time!
Hello Adventurer,
It’s holiday season and I just wanted to wish all of you Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope you’ll be able to spend it with your loved ones and family.
Here, in the Netherlands we are in sort of a lockdown again and I just managed to catch a cold couple of days ago. We do have dinner plans amongst our family and I hope to stop sniffing by the weekend. I really do hope so!
My favourite part of Christmas is the family dinner and last year we weren’t able to have one. This year we have planned to gather together again, wearing Christmas sweatters and just enjoying the time together. We don’t really do presents and I don’t have anything else but health and happiness to wish for, anyhow.
Let it be a lovely weekend full of joy and love!
What is your favourite thing about Christmas? Do you like making and receiving presents?

Our holiday preparations, as far as decorating the house and setting up the Christmas tree were this year actually rather late. Even though we basically started three weeks ago, which included searching out all of our Christmas boxes one weekend and taking the tree out of the box the next weekend, we only just finished few days ago. The holiday feels are indeed stronger when you have little lights shining around the house and it feels very, very nice.
What have I been up to?

I’ve been busying myself writing Angels Around Us and I feel like I’m really close to the finish line of the first draft. To those of you who haven’t heard about this project of mine – since I have so many, Afterworld and Through Stones & Ashes included – Angels Around Us is my attempt at butchering contemporary romance. Butchering, because one of my beta-readers said, that meanwhile it absolutely kept her captivated she would classify it more as a women’s fiction with romantic undertones.
Now I have been left to figure out as to what to do about it.
Here’s a little sneak peak of the book:
My author inteview
“I’ve always had a love for reading. It blossomed at a very young age, and naturally, reading at a higher level came easy for me. I grasped mature content much faster than my peers, and I believe that is how I managed to create content as such, even at this age. The main reason I started writing was my crazy imagination. And on the other hand, it was because of my grandfather. He was an author and published tons of books over his lifetime. I wanted to be just like him. Finally, on September 11th, I was able to pronounce myself an author after I released my debut novel, Madness. If only Grandpa Parque can see me now. He passed away too soon.”
My lates read

EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO, THE WORLD LEARNED THE UGLY TRUTH:
GOD EXISTS. HE JUST DOESN’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT US.
After a deadly virus wipes out most of the world’s population, those of us who survive are left as food for the Damned, the walking corpses ravaged by the infection.
Yet, something far more sinister stirs in the bowels of New York City. The Four Horsemen are prowling the streets, kidnapping young girls and dragging them back to their lair. And when a supply run becomes a rescue mission turned deadly, I’m left at the mercy of a sexy stranger.
Jax Constantine weaves himself into my life with blood tingling charisma and a smile that rekindles my hope in love. But a dark secret lurks beneath his penetrating gaze and sizzling touch. One he’s not willing to share, leading me to believe he might not be the man I thought.
Now, humanity’s last stand rests in my hands. To save a world consumed by evil, I must choose between stopping Lucifer from claiming an already scorched Earth as his own or saving the man I love.
The same man destined to curse my soul.

Vacation is coming!
Hello Adventurer,
Have you taken any exciting journeys lately? Either through the pages of the books or out there in the real world. I’d love to hear all about it!
My biggest adventures are still happening behind the screen of my computer. One of them is really coming alive and I can’t wait to share more about it with you. Until then, I can only tease you with the poster Olivia made!

Even with this new project Im working on, I havent forgotten about Through Hell & Highwater series. Current wordcount for my draft for Through Stones & Ashes is at 43240. That is half of the first book!
Meanwhile, to make the waiting more fun for you, I have dived into the world of instagram and decided to try out one of those collage pictures I keep seeing around. I enjoyed the design process so much I made four and there will likely be more coming!
Now, I am not sure how it works, but I will most likely feel compelled to start making three posts at a time from now on, just to not break the images!

Head over to instagram to see more of my ‘amazing artistic skills!’
Don’t forget to click follow to get instant updates!
My vacation is just two weeks away! Even though I really enjoy escaping into the written world, I’ve really been waiting for some time off and taking a different adventure altogether. Current plans include taking a trip to Ardennes in Belgium, perhaps driving to the coast for a day on the beach, and if the weather is nice we could lounge and BBQ in our own backyard under the palm tree and pretend we are in Spain or California.
Even though I am off to vacation really, really soon I’ve got some treats for you!

RocTar has never been very chatty and getting him to open up, if even just a little was a feat I am proud of. Don’t mind his grumpiness!

Chuck Tucker Investigations
I recently wrote a short story for NYC Midnight Flash Fiction challenge that inspired me. I expanded the story I submitted to the competition a bit and am thinking of turning it into an episodal experience. I’d love to know your thoughts!
Chuck Tucker is having a night off when all shit hits the van. All he wanted was to get a drink, find a woman and have some fun, but that gets interrupted by a young man waving a gun around in the middle of a crowded nightclub. He has to interfer and kiss the idea of fun good bye.

The beat was sick and the crowd wild. I might’ve had one too many shots, but it didn’t matter when the stunning blonde ran her hands down my chest. We were crammed up against the bar with a bunch of other partygoers, most of them pissed off drunk or on their way to it. I’d ordered her a cocktail, but she was already slurring her words before I squeezed in next to her. A couple of compliments and suggestive comments later and she was leaning into me. Not my usual type, but she was hot as fuck and I didnt bother to care about the rest, when she bit down on my earlobe.
Fuck.
I pulled her closer to me, letting her know exactly what I thought of her sneaky tongue and soft lips sucking on my neck. Her breasts pressed up against my chest were probably fake, but that ass I was gripping was perfectly firm, perfection.
It was my day off, nothing to stop me from having some much needed release. The local club, Wicked Angels, was as good a place as any to get what I needed and the woman writhing against me was ready to give it.
There were too many people around. Drunk or not, this wasn’t the place to continue our introductions. She seemed to be on the same page, because as her hands roamed around my chest, her lips uttered exactly what I was thinking.
“Let’s get outta here.”
I had just taken her up on her offer when the first shot was fired. Right in the middle of the raving dance party. Right in the middle of my fucking night out. Right as I was about to get out and get laid. It blasted off into the beat of music almost perfectly. To untrained ears it came and went, unnoticed. I almost thought I’d imagined it and was about to blame it on my nerves. Only the scream of a terrified, practically naked brunette got me to look twice at the scene unfolding in one of the most secure clubs in LA.
The crowd parted to a white gangster-brat waving a gun around like it was a toy; the brunette wailed as a young man at her feet bleed out from a fatal chest wound. A heroic young man attempted to wrestle the weapon away from the lunatic, but that only caused it to rapidly fire six more rounds into the crowd. He ended up with a bullet in his leg for the effort.
Author Interviews
I have been connecting with some amazing authors and wanted to share their stories with you.
My latest author interview was with D.N Woodward, author of A Choice of Blades.
Find out more about him by clicking on the picture.
Check Out A Choice of Blades!
With no knowledge of his true heritage, a young rancher, Leon Waldman, must forge a bold path for survival when he is tossed into a legendary world of powerful skin-changers and deadly creatures of myth!
Leon grew up working hard on his grandfather’s ranch, dutifully sticking it out for the old man. But deep down he has dreams of his own and life just seems…off?
Then there are all the odd changes that keep occurring, both to him personally and to the ranch in general.
When Leon is eventually confronted with a shift in his reality, brought on by a testy bunch of mercenaries, all of those changes converge. For him and a few others with him, a door is forced open to a world of danger, steeped in mystery, a world beyond anything he could have ever imagined.
Leon knows the mercenaries have plans that may or may not include him and the others, and the locals prove to be just as dangerous as they look.
Come what may, he is determined to stick to a promise made to his grandfather, a promise to find a way home for him and those forced through the portal with him. To do so, he’s going to have to push himself in ways he never thought possible, and a simple bone handled Blade may be the key to either making or breaking that effort.
But before he can make good on any promises, he must learn to navigate this new mythical land with a rancher’s grit, a unique set of powers, and some new friends along the way.
In the end, the stakes will be higher than anyone suspects!
My Latest Read

I have been writing more than I’ve been reading the past few months and the most recent book I’ve read was by a more known author. Even though I read it as an introduction to apocalyptic genre, I absolutely loved it.
Year One was an emotional ride for me. It is a beautifully written, vivid, absolutely amazing pandemic story that will keep you reading until the last word. All I can say is that the journey through the pages was even more amplified due to the recent corona virus outbreak. It felt more real than it would have before Covid.
I loved everything about this book. I would classify it under masterpieces and must-reads!
Tell me about your vacation plans and best reads!
Until next time!

Apocalypse is Just Around the Corner!
Hello Adventurer,
How have you been? It has been a while since my last mail and a lot has happened. I’ve gotten a puppy, found I am incredibly allergic to the said furball and had to give up the puppy after our two sweet, loving weeks together. I’ve caught a cold, done my very first corona test, received news I have no corona and I’ve recovered. I’ve spent some quality time in my garden, planted a punch of flowers and given lots of water to my tomatoes… I’ve taken on waaay too many books to read and write all at the same time that my timetable is bent over and weeping.
I know you are probably waiting for me to say that Through Stones & Ashes is finished and ready to end up in your bookshelf. That is still not the case. Infact, among with that ongoing project I have taken upon myself a new, super exciting one! I have teamed up with an incredible author Olivia Boothe to co-write a super kick-ass, post-apocalyptic paranormal romance replete with angels, demons, and the prince of darkness himself. This one is going to be a gripping, hair-raising, mind-blowing adventure.

Olivia Boothe is an absolutely amazing paranormal romance author. I got an ARC for her latest release Eternally Yours and read a little of what she is working on right now. Her writing has everything an all-compassing, unforgettable story needs. It has heart. It encaptures your soul and make you fall in love. I am honoured to be able to work with her.

Moving on with more new and fun stuff!
Book ‘Trailer’
A little while ago I took it upon myself to put together a little ‘trailer’ video for Through Hell & Highwater. I absolutely enjoyed the whole process. Here’s what I gave up with. It probably cant really contest with all the real high end, impeccable book trailers, but I am proud of it.
Video not working? Check it out here!
CasterWeb
Evyline, Lisanna, RocTar and Tylon have been all rather busy in their search for the ancient amulet and havent had many opurtunities to post about their journey on CasterWeb. I reminded them that readers love hearing about their adventures and that I can’t possibly tell all of their stories!

It’s not like I know him that well, but he has been acting a bit strange lately. When I pointed out to Finley, who knows more about Vampires than anyone else I know – because she is one herself! – that perhaps he is hungry she dismissed the idea. Vampires don’t volunteeringly keep themselves hungry since it could make them a danger to everyone around them. That’s the last thing they want after having such a hard time being part of the peace negotiation years ago. The university provides them all they need to be able to attend like any other creature: healthy meal plan and daylight spells.
Now the origin of daylight spells is as fascinating to me as Vampires feeding schedule. There is as little to find about it as there is about anything else you might want to know about the species, but I did manage to find a mention about it in one of the history books. A Witch named Delylah Rassow had worked on creating the spell for over a decade – even before the MPA negotiation took place! That leaves me to wonder about her motivations on working so relentlessly to change the life of what was then considered as one of the biggest enemies to all the other species.
There is two options in my head as to what could have happened all those years ago:
- Delylah was a traitor and wished for Vampires to annihilate the rest of the species
- Delylah fell in love with a Vampire

Some of the victims of this prank did not seem to think so, however. The halfling Alfie had an hilarious breakdown when he turned beet red! Surprisingly, my mentee, Evyline, took turning light pink quite well. Pink is a great colour on her…
I never thought I’d tolerate her, let alone worry about her. Phhsh, what? No, I am not worried about her. Professor Eyorn wouldn’t take a first year on a mission to Waitomo Caves if he’d thought they couldn’t handle themselves. I haven’t seen her use her magic and have no clue of the scope of her abilities. I shouldn’t even be thinking about it. Professor Eyorn’s missions are always full of excitement and nothing to worry about. A dragon? Ha, there is probably no dragon in the caves anyway.
We haven’t really talked much – my mentee and I. I suppose I didn’t start off on a very good note. I was annoyed to find out I’d be mentoring. Excuses, I know! I have a feeling she despises me. She hasn’t said as much, but come on, nobody avoids their mentor when they get an assignment from professor McBee to research and test out high level reformation spells. No first year has the ability to do that by themselves, right? I mean, I went to Archer with less; Greg and Heizat have begged their mentor’s help for almost every little thing. Should I have offered to help when I found out about the assignment? Maybe. Did I? Noup. I wanted to see if she’d come asking for help on her own. Did she? Hell no.

My Latest Read

I was looking forward to the second book of Strands of Existence and it did not disappoint. It was more than I expected it to be. Uncovered secrets. Loss and love. An epic battle to save the city and its people. It will keep you on edge and wanting for more.
I loved Istrae and Rime’s interactions in the first book and I absolutely loved them in the second one. At times their relationship is being held together only by the unexplainable connection they feel for each other. As the war is at their doorstep and Istrae has joined Rime in the battle preparations, they are finally getting to know each other at a deeper level. Even though she loves him, some things that he does leave a sour taste in her mouth. I really enjoy reading their story
Another man in Istrae’s life was Riestel. I despised him in the first book, but his actions in Sea of Shadows redeemed him. At times I wished Istrae would look at him with more than friendship in her eyes and maybe gone too far.
There is betrayal and heartbreak. Friendships are getting tested. And most importantly the war for freedom and life. If you haven’t read the series yet and it sounds like something you’d enjoy, I encourage you to do so!
